THE PROJECT:

  • Finding suitable partners for the funding

  • Locating sites that can be ideal in terms of:

    • Long term sustainability

    • Maximum usage by local community

    • Adequate in terms of water table

    • Cost efficient

  • Totally self-less with no other vested interests

  • Contracting local firms with track record for the delivery of a turnkey project with Community mobilisation, hydrogeological surveys, drilling of boreholes, equipping with hand pumps, training of community, plinth, fencing, gate, cattle trough.

 

THE FUNDING:

  • A project cost of approximately Ksh.600,000.00 (about GBP – 5000.00) per site

  • This includes:

    • Site identification

    • All Legal issues and Government Permit

    • Actual delivery of project

    • Training on preventive maintenance and spare parts for sustenance

 

  • Young Jains, Nairobi who are our partners in Kenya have managed Joint projects in partnership with various other charities and individual Donors. To date, they have completed over 170 such projects and are continuing to deliver more in this area.
